American Optical Green-Lensed Spectacles — White Gold-Filled with Glazed Side Shields

The side shields

The side view reveals the distinctive construction: green lateral panes sit inside shaped metal borders behind the round front lenses. A dividing metal element gives each shield a structured, panelled appearance. Fine cable temples curve away from the endpieces, while the bridge and front rims retain the economy of an early metal spectacle. The seller records later green UV-protective sun lenses. The side shields are included as photographed; their presence does not establish modern protective certification.

Collector’s note

Offered for its vintage design and collecting interest; current protective or driving-performance certification is not represented.

Condition & presentation

The frame retains its green-glazed lateral shields and cable-temple configuration. The metal borders and bridge are visible in the gallery. Please refer to the photographs for surface details and request close-ups of the lens edges before acquisition. No case is included.

Restoration is carried out with intention by third-party specialists on an as-needed basis, preserving original features and markings as fully as possible. Individual condition notes describe the visible state and any specifically recorded changes.
