Share the maker and model if known, any temple or bridge markings, your preferred condition and a budget. For a frame remembered from a photograph, include the reference and tell us which features matter most.

Send a reference image or link. For a pair you own, photograph the front, both temples, bridge, hinges and any lettering. Clear marks can be more useful than a flattering portrait.

Model, colour, dimensions, construction and condition can each change what makes a match. Reference images help distinguish an exact request from an acceptable alternative.
Discuss the possibilities
Availability varies. We discuss the search and any proposed sourcing terms before you commit. An enquiry carries no promise that a particular frame can be located.
Examine before acquiring
Ask for photographs of markings, hinges and repairs, and confirm dimensions before purchase. A qualified optician can advise on fit and whether a vintage frame is suitable for your intended lenses.

If a candidate becomes available, discuss its identity, photographs, condition, price and any sourcing terms before deciding. The objective is a considered acquisition, with the details understood.
Questions about finding vintage glasses
Can you identify glasses from a photo?
A photograph can begin an identification enquiry. Clear views and readable markings improve the evidence; a portrait alone may support only a possible model or a similar style. Identification remains provisional until the necessary details can be examined.
Can I request an exact size or colour?
Yes. Include marked dimensions and colour codes when available, plus your acceptable alternatives. Availability and suitability must be confirmed for the individual frame.
Is a photo enquiry an automatic reverse-image search?
No. It is a private enquiry reviewed by the Society. The form prepares your message; you send it through your own email account, with any photographs attached.
