Petroliana

Restored petrol pumps & service-station design

Pumps, globes, enamel signs and service-station graphics connect engineering with the visual character of the road. A search should distinguish the pump maker from its fuel branding, and record retained parts, restoration and any later signage. Enquire about the object or period you are seeking.

Mexicana & Americana

Objects with a sense of place

Regional craft, commercial graphics, silver, pottery and domestic objects are part of the Society’s collecting outlook. Tell us the region, workshop, material or visual tradition that interests you. Attribution begins with marks and documented history; decorative resemblance alone is a starting point for investigation.

Luminaires & Objets d’Usage

Lighting, glass & useful beauty

From sculptural lamps to beautifully resolved everyday objects, proportion and material are as important as a name. A lighting enquiry should include intended use, dimensions and destination, with wiring and electrical suitability considered separately from decorative condition.

Bicycliana

Bicycles & design in motion

Frames, badges, components and paint tell different parts of a bicycle’s history. For a collecting or sourcing enquiry, include the maker, approximate period and whether display, originality or riding use matters most. Restoration and functional readiness deserve separate discussion.

Curiosa & Ephemera

The unexpected, carefully considered

Mechanical novelties, unusual accessories, printed matter and objects beyond a single category invite a particular kind of curiosity. A photograph, inscription, catalogue reference or description of function can begin the search—even when the right name is still elusive.
