Two configurations
The underlying black optical frame has a keyhole bridge and a softly squared lens shape. The separately made metal sun clip follows the contour of the front and adds green lenses without replacing the frame’s optical configuration. Its small attachment points and connecting bridge are visible above the darker rims. The later clip is part of this offering, and its modern origin is kept distinct from that of the vintage American Optical frame.
Collector’s note
The distinction between the vintage frame and the later accessory is integral to the entry. The clip is included as part of this offering.
Condition & presentation
Vintage frame with a later custom-made removable sun clip, included in this offering. The clip should be distinguished from the period frame. Refer to both views for the fitted configuration and surface finish. No case is included.
Restoration is carried out with intention by third-party specialists on an as-needed basis, preserving original features and markings as fully as possible. Individual condition notes describe the visible state and any specifically recorded changes.
