Optyl and metal

The rounded lens openings and comparatively fine dark-brown front allow the metal temples to become a significant part of the design. Their ribbed surfaces lead into oval CD emblems, introducing both texture and a recognisable house detail. The warm brown lenses sit comfortably within the amber-brown frame. The inscriptions should be read as a set: Monsieur 2164, colour 10, Optyl, Germany and the recorded size.

Collector’s note

The recorded 2164 model number, colour 10 and German origin distinguish this example within the Monsieur line. Those identifiers are more useful for comparison than a broad resemblance to other Dior frames.

Condition & presentation

The warm-toned Optyl front, ribbed metal temples and CD emblems present clearly. Brown sun lenses are fitted. Please refer to the photographs for surface detail; additional close-ups are available. No case is included.

Restoration is carried out with intention by third-party specialists on an as-needed basis, preserving original features and markings as fully as possible. Individual condition notes describe the visible state and any specifically recorded changes.
