A Tart Optical Ace High in warm, mottled amber acetate. Broad, gently dropping lens openings meet a substantial saddle bridge; green lenses sharpen the contrast with the translucent frame. The continuous front has a quieter surface than Tart’s diamond-riveted optical models.

Form and material
The Ace High’s broad upper line rolls into generous, rounded lower rims. Warm brown flecks sit within translucent amber, and the deep green lenses produce a pronounced contrast at the lens edges. Its substantial moulded bridge reads as part of the front itself, rather than a separate metal connector. The side view is especially useful for appreciating the thickness of the rims and the taper of the temples.
Collector’s note
Japanese specialist examples place the Ace High within Tart’s 1960s–1970s production. Its larger aviator form expresses a different side of the maker’s vocabulary from the compact, keyhole-bridge Arnel.
Condition & presentation
Rich amber mottling and a well-defined front profile. Green sun lenses are fitted. Please refer to the photographs for surface detail; additional close-ups are available. No case is included.
