An open lower profile

The metalwork follows the upper edge of each lens, while the lower edges remain exposed. The elevated connecting bar creates a second line above the nose, and small mounting points fasten the lenses at the sides. This concentration of structure above the lens centres is what gives the frame its spare appearance. The high bar is therefore more useful as a descriptive feature than the earlier fully rimless label.

Collector’s note

The high-bar construction is the defining feature. This example is catalogued as an upper-rim mounting rather than a fully rimless three-piece frame.

Condition & presentation

The high bar, upper rims and individual lens mountings are retained. Please refer to the photographs for metal finish and mounting details. No case is included.

Restoration is carried out with intention by third-party specialists on an as-needed basis, preserving original features and markings as fully as possible. Individual condition notes describe the visible state and any specifically recorded changes.
