The raised brow
The upper metal elements rise above the lens rims, then return toward the endpieces, creating a distinctive sculptural contour. Fine lower eyewires keep the squared lens openings visually light. Separate nose pads and dark temple tips complete the metal-frame construction. The contrast between the substantial brow elements and delicate lower rims is the Carlton’s strongest identifying visual feature.
Collector’s note
Comparable Carlton frames are catalogued to the 1960s. Their raised brows distinguish the model from a conventional wire frame; a comparable example’s size or gold-content stamp should not be transferred to this piece.
Condition & presentation
The raised gold-tone brow elements and dark temple tips remain visually distinct. Please refer to the photographs for surface detail; additional close-ups are available. No case is included.
